The robot
The robot is simply the illusion of being a robot. Movements of the robot are normally started and finished with a dimestop, to give the impression of motors starting and stopping, popers and lockers are the ones who are most likely to use the robot while danceing bacaus eit fits in well with their style of street dance and usually goes well with the beat, as the beat pounds they lock and this give teh effect that the beat is contolding their robotic movements. The robot isint even just only used in street dance its also used in street theatre, for example mimses usually use the robot when pretending their stuck in an invisible box, pullking a rope and so forth. The dance was created in the 1960's, since then its been adapted into teh popping style to make it look even better, but some still base their dance routenes only on the robot, for example 'The robot boys', these pair won Denmark’s Got Talent in 2008 by only doing different variations of teh robot.

The C walk
C walk has many variations these are crip walk, clown walk, crown walk and the blood bounce, the C walk originated in the early 1970s by Crip gang members from the
Compton suburbs, the dance has now grown to be a world phenomenon and now has it own differet variations. The C walk basically consists of very quick and precise leg movments, when exectued correctly the C walk has the potential to wow crowds, but if not executed at the correct speed and precision then the C walk is made to look boring and some would even say 'thats not dancing!'. The C walk can be merged with other forms of street dance because it goes well with a majority of these styles, for example some breaker used the walk when toprocking.
This is the correct way to C walk

Types of music used in street dance
There is a stereotype that street dancers only like to dance to one kind of music and that is hip-hop, this originally the type of music that street dancers danced to, but as times changed so did dancers, they saw that there was other types of music in which they can adapt to and dance to, this varies according to the style of street dance they are doing, for example lockers now sometimes use a slow violin instrumental while dancing as it coresponds very well to their style of dancing as they can execute slow robotic movements to that type of music. By street dancers looking to use other styles of music it means they can explore with their moves a little bit more, they can widen out the way in which they pop lock and break to fit in with the new styles of music that we listened to today. For example there is now a new genre of music that seems to be taking the UK by storm, this is called dubstep, this has a kind of electronic touch to it so this style of music is used for popers and locker because when the bass drops, it drop hard, therefore giving poppers and lockers the chance to really go hard and give it their all.

Street dance
Street dance is called street dance simply because its a style of dance that rose from the streets of America, it originated through the black hip-hop culture its a style of dance that includes many flips and tricks. Street dance focuses on different styles of dancing these are poping, locking and breaking, usually sreet dances will specialise in one of these three areas of dancing. These three styles poping, locking and breaking are the 3 most popular styles of street dance, there are still may other styles of street dance such as tutting, crip walking, krumping, clown walk, dougieing, jerking and may more styles. Popping is basically the waving of the body, using your arm body and legs to create a consistant realistic wave kind of effect going through you body, popping is one of the more original styles of street dance. Locking is the movment of the body in a robotic style, it consists of freezing from a fast movement and "locking" in a certain position, holding that position for a short while and then continuing in the same speed as before, locking is the more funky style in street dance. Breaking is the more modern style of street dance, this in my opinion is the hardest style of the three styles I mentioned, it consists of technical foot work and many power moves such as the windmill, flare, air flare, swipe and headspins.
